Did you hear? The already-awesome Transformers movie will race to the big, big, BIG IMAX screen on September 21, 2007.

IMAX, DreamWorks and Paramount Pictures have announced that the movie will be digitally re-mastered into IMAX immersive giant-screen format and released to IMAX theaters for a limited time.

This sort of makes us wonder why they didn’t release it on IMAX in the first place. Is it because they’ve made a whopping domestic $310,578,372 and foreign $375,016,486 (boxofficemojo) and now they want to double everything with this IMAX showing? Highly possible.
